FARGO, N.D. (AP) _ Outgoing North Dakota University System Chancellor Ham Shirvani has criticized three university presidents in annual performance evaluations.
Shirvani is calling for outside reviews of University of North Dakota President Robert Kelley and North Dakota State President Dean Bresciani (bruh-SHAW'-nee). He's recommending no raises for Kelley and Minot State President David Fuller because of what he calls poor leadership.
Fuller says he's proud of what he's accomplished. Kelley says he met his goals and he's perplexed by the recommendation that he not receive a raise. A spokeswoman for Bresciani says he's committed to NDSU's success and is surprised by Shirvani's analysis.
The state Board of Higher Education voted earlier this month to buy out Shirvani's contract after months of pressure from critics who questioned the chancellor's leadership style.
