Texas Men Save Baby And Toddler In Flood Waters

After storms and tornadoes tore through Texas over the weekend, Tom Mitchell wanted to help people dealing with the aftermath. He found a truck flipped over in fast moving water near Myrtle Springs and stopped to capture the moment on video as a few good samaritans waded into the water to rescue the father, toddler, and infant stuck inside.

The video is tough to watch, but it shows the kind strangers struggling to free the family trapped inside the overturned truck. The group finally did get the kids out and Mitchell performed CPR on the baby who wasn’t breathing.

The father of the children posted an update from the hospital on social media, saying he and his son were doing much better and the baby girl was still under sedation, but they were going to pull her breathing tube to see if she could do it on her own.

When asked why he felt like he had to share this story, Mitchell says, “I think it shows how the community and strangers all come together."
