The Bottom Line: March 28th is National Black Forest Cake Day!

The Full Story:

March 28th is National Black Forest Cake Day! Think of the most addicting thing possible. Now think again. Black Forest Cake is the English name for the German dessert “Schwarzwalder Kirschtorte,” which probably means Good luck trying to resist this temptation, you weakling. This special dessert is made of several layers of chocolate cake, separated by luscious fillings of whipped cream and cherries. The top is decorated with whipped cream, maraschino cherries and chocolate shavings. The United States has no alcohol, but in Germany it’s a mandatory ingredient. Otherwise the cake cannot legally be sold under the name Schwarzwalder Kirschtorte. Is there a 12 step program being developed for this cake? ‘Cuz if there isn’t, we’re going to need one soon.
