Two families lose homes to fire in southeast Minot

A fire Monday afternoon destroyed two structures in Jefferson Mobile Home Park in southeast Minot, leaving two families without homes.

Three engines, one ladder truck, and one command vehicle responded to the call at 12:39 p.m. at 3100 11th Ave. SE. The fire started in one mobile home and quickly spread to an adjacent mobile home. All occupants of the homes were able to safely exit and no injuries were reported.

When fire units arrived on the scene, one mobile home was on fire, creating heavy smoke. The flames from the first mobile home spread to an adjacent mobile home, burning through the exterior of that structure. Crews verified that all occupants had exited both homes and extinguished both fires.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
